Hey OP. I don't think that looks bad at all. I had my girlfriend do one for my jeep and it turned out pretty good. She had never done one so there is a slight issue but hey, its a jeep and an older one at that.

I like the idea so thanks for posting.

Finally got mine installed. I only used a 3/4' foam pad. I think it turned out pretty well for a DIY project. Maybe down the road I'll send it off to BDukes55 with my headrests and get them all embroidered.

Got mine on over the weekend. I did not add any padding, just wanted a soft touch surface on the console. I do a lot of writing on the console lid and like the fairly sturdy surface, just did not care for the rubber texture when putting in lots of seat time.

I just removed and disassembled the console cover
cleaned and prepped the surfaces (alcohol)
Marked center on the console and cover
heated the leather
Sprayed on the 3M #80 vinyl & leather adhesive (console and back of cover)
Proceeded to stretch, center, and smooth the leather
Trimmed the excess and cut my tucks
Applied adhesive and rolled the sides corners
Reinstalled the lock and inner plastic liner
Ironed out the sides and tucks and inserted a few 1/4" upholstery black staples to help hold tucks

You make it all sound so simple and easy. I'd honestly love to have my regular cab reupholstered in steel blue leather, but that will probably never happen.

I like yours the most, we have the same interior and i think it looks perfect and not over done. I also like the sturdiness of it and have no problems with how "hard" it is.

Did you make yours or buy a kit somewhere?

Has anyone used autoconsolecovers.com? They have covers for $27. Not sure how good they look or not as they don't have a good pic of them installed in our specific truck.

I bought the cover off eBay:

The 3M #80 adhesive I have only ever found at Home Depot, oddly enough. Just recovering over the existing console is fairly straight forward, most of your time will be in stretching, trimming, and tucking corners.

Pulling an F150 headliner is a much bigger PIA

Thanks,

How long have you had it now and how well is it fairing? Im hesitant to pull the trigger on installing something like that because i use the armrest heavily. I think that i might make the material (leather) stretch/distort with my elbow...
