Nice job OP, looks great!

My armrest will start putting my arm and hand to sleep if I leave it in the same position for an hour or so. Definitely not comfortable, got to keep shifting positions so it doesn't happen.

eBay says mine shipped yesterday.
Hopefully I will have a nice little indoor wknd project.
If I can't get it looking factory, oh well..my console is only 3 months old anyways.

I think it looks pretty good. Could trim the padding round the edges a little more so the stitches line up perfect but other than that I think it looks good. I spend many hours in my truck a week and find the OEM lid uncomfortable too. How do they not know to pad all the contact points.

Just ordered mine too. Plain black. To the OP, having done the install with the padding already, any tips or things you would do differently?

Just got mine today, black with red stitch to match the appearance package. plan is to just recover over the existing lid. Seller said they use contact cement or 3M spray adhesive in that case. I was planning to staple it, may still give that a go. Not certain I want to commit to ruining a lid with adhesive, they aren't too cheap.

Now, if there was some damn padding for the window sill area that would be killer. I'm going to have to do this on my regular cab.

Check this out: http://www.pickupspecialties.com/road_rest.htm

I've been using one for years, and it's a real arm saver! I put some 3M VHB tape on the bottom to ensure it stays in place. I get lots of inquiries about it.

Now are you guys dismantling the console (removing the part inside that holds the pens, cell phone, etc) and tucking the leather and then stapling inside, then using the inside cover to keep it in place?
I haven't tackled it yet,and (I know the answer, already) but I do know I don't want staples showing when I lift up the lid.
One more question? Did you push down (kneel) so that the foam was compressed when you fastened the leather, so when you let up it expanded and filled all the contours.
Any tips just to make it easier will help
Thanks in advance.

OP great job, form and function! For those of you not so patient to install and want something a little different there is a member on here @Bdukes55 that does embroidery and also offered a padded armrest, his prices are comparable to ops mod and offers a custom touch. Here is a pic of his work, and a link to his thread https://www.f150forum.com/f38/f150-h...oidery-247669/
