Out with the old tune, in with the new!

I have a 2013 F150 FX2 5.0L with 33" tires, resonator delete and a Airaid JR intake with stock OEM filter.
While on vacation in Jacksonville, FL last year I was playing on the internet and saw that Torrie @ Unleashed Tuning was local. Hit him up and got a 87 Performance Tune. It was a great improvement over stock. DBW delay was much better, MPG was better and power was increased as well as shifts much faster and firmer. Was extremely happy with it. Have about 15K miles with this tune.
After reading some reviews about MPT and saw how many people like there's, with the forum discount it was almost a no brainer to at least try it. I mean I have spent $55 on much worse. So last week I emailed MPT all my info and today I received it. Loaded it onto the X3 then to the truck. And of course it starts raining. That didn't stop me, went for a small cruise.
First thing was DBW delay was ZERO, reminded me of my last truck with a lightning motor and throttle cable. No delay!
Second was while driving to the end of my street is that it holds gears and doesn't shift up. At first I wasn't a fan cause it seams as if it winds the motor out but after some more miles I noticed that it keep the engine in "the good spot" there's really no need to down shift to accelerate.
Get onto the highway and first is useless due to the wet roads. So while cruising i notice the shift firmness is perfect, I mean perfect. PERFECT!
After making the block I get to a red light. It turnes green and I rolled into the throttle, once it hit 2nd I mash it and holy duck it pulls and pulls all the way to 6500!
With that being said as much as I loved my Unleashed tune the MPT is by far better. Again only put 3-4 miles on the truck and the streets were wet so I couldn't see how it is from a dig but so far its much better. I will be going out of town this weekend so I'd like to compare MPG, cause after seeing some documentation on the boards the Unleashed tune may have it beat but only miles will tell. I'll be sure to update this thread Sat/Sun.
BTW I got the 87 Performance Street tune. Asked them to stop all DBW delay and keep it safe to DD and tow.
Will be data logging the truck Monday to see where she stands!!

Great info, looking at MPT myself vs the 5Star tunes. Trying to decide

I'm intrigued!
I loaded up the 5 Star 87 Performance into my 5.0 and while it was a big improvement over stock, it didn't seem to have as much get up as I thought I would. I just loaded the 5 star 87 Economy tune and will be doing a 13 hour trip to TX tomorrow evening and see how it helps my mileage.
I am going to follow this and see how you report, I may just end up trying a tune from MPT.

Glad you decided to give MPT a try. I agree with all youve said. Although i have the chill setting and its perfect for me, i think. Never experienced the street shift firmness. Wet roads are definitely tricky with this tune. I was logging it with Ecofx86 and broke them loose while logging a hwy pass scenario 50-90mph, was pleasantly surprised.

Not to hijack but what kinds of information can be obtained by data logging? I noted the SCT X4 I have now can do it but I don't know if I can understand the importance of it.

The drive to work was fun to say the least. Decided to go WFO from a 1st gear roll with TC on and the tires just light up, had TC on so it didn't chirp 2nd but I'm sure with TC off it would have.
MPG is still something I'm interested in, with the short ride to work(nothing over 55MPH) it appears to be a little less than the Unleashed tune and I think it's due to the truck holding gears a little longer. Won't shift into 6th until about 55MPH.
Still very excited about this tune.
I can honestly say I have noticed more of a change going from Unleashed to MPT vs Stock to Unleashed. Going from Stock to MPT would be huge.
Is spinning this 5.0L to 6500 safe?
