Default Opinion on price of leveling kit installation

I went buy the lift/tire shop here in College Station today and was quoted $464 for a 2.5" "performance" leveling kit installed with alignment as well. No clue if performance is a brand or if he was just trying to make it sound good to try and sell it. When I asked what kind of level kit as in spacer, adjustable(bilsteins, rancho), etc all he said was performance and was pretty short with me. Anyways, my main question is if $464 is a good out the door price for the product or if I would be better off buying the kit and doing it myself and getting the alignment done and a shop?

Don't walk away, RUN!!! That's ridiculous, there is nothing performance about a level or lift kit, your just changing ride height.

I leveled my truck for $20.

No way! You can buy a good leveling kit off eBay for $50 or under. You need about 3 hours of yours and a buddies time. You don't need any special tools just make sure you have the right size of sockets, an air impact and a torque wrench.

If your referring to my post above about the pucks, I was just joking and teasing Mr. Rnlcomp.

Yeah I'm now leaning towards 5100s on all 4 with the adjustables up front or rancho quick lift for leveling and just doing it myself
