Can you take a video of the ticking noise? You sure it's not just the normal sound of the lifters?
If you want to quiet it down and stop the oil consumption in one fell swoop, you could try going to a high viscosity oil, something like a 5w-30. I haven't done much research on how well these 5.0s respond to a 30 weight oil, but in most vehicles a jump up in viscosity doesnt hurt anything (except maybe fuel mileage) and will usually fix oil consumption and quiet it down a bit
