Default Off set wheel ?

I just put some wheels and Duratrac 275/65/18's (off craiglist ) on I don't know what off set they are but they stick out of the wheel well about an 1'' maybe more. I noticed the mpg went down about 1.5-2. These tires are wider and taller that oem's . Is it the tires or off set rims making the mpg drop ? Will this set up throw my speedo off ? thanks guys

http://tire-size-conversion.com/tire-size-comparison/

Enter your stock size. Enter the new size.

It shows the difference in dimensions.

I don't know what size tires you had stock, but if the new tires are taller, your speedo and odometer will be off. On e you correct it (with the tuner you are talking about) it will reflect actual numbers. Mine was off by about 4ish percent when I went from stock STX 18s to stock FX 20s. My MPG dropped due to the error in the odometer. I bought a tuner to fix the speedo and odo, and my MPG are now closer to what they were with stock wheels and tires.

check with a gps, probably closer to being correct than what readings on your stock. most speedometers read fast from the factory, some more than others. LT tires are heavier plus your rims may weigh more also, then throw in more aggressive tread and there goes your mileage.
