Default Electronic HVAC doesn't blow through floor vents

Hello all, I have a 2012 Ecoboost XLT Scab. It has the regular Sync system and the electronic HVAC system (manual ***** for temperature/fan speed, electronic selector for floor/vent/defrost).

When the HVAC is on the FLOOR ONLY setting, it blows out weakly from the floor vents and mainly through the defrost vents. VENT+FLOOR and DEF+FLOOR are basically the same, hardly any air through the floor vents. Vent or defrost alone seem to be working as intended. It's not a problem when it's warm but it SUCKS when it's as cold as it is in Ohio right now, I get to work with cold toes every day.

What's the problem and how can I fix it? It seems like there is a door that is supposed to close off the defrost that's not closing? Anyone had issues like this before?

Thanks!

Hi Slide,

Thanks, Antonio. Crystal responded and told me to make an appointment at my dealer and then touch base with her. I'd like to get information through this forum and hopefully address it myself without spending money at the dealer.

I would certainly be very sad if mine does this after the warranty is up.

To be fair though, the guys in the video was an EcoBoost. That could have been the start of the problem right there.

Jesus. If that's the fix I'll deal with it.

That was IN...SANE. Great video. Not sure I have the wherewithal for all of that, but I certainly enjoyed it nonetheless!

It really isn't that bad to do.

With yours you should be able to change the motor without removing the dash but it may also be a broken or stuck door.

Mine failed obviously because its an ecoboost

I have 82000kms and even tho the truck is only 2 and a bit years old my warranty is up
