Default Oem seat filters missing the element

I ordered these replacement seat filters off rock auto and this is how they came. Am I missing something here? Was I supposed to get the filter element seperately?

$50 for 2 useless pieces of plastic..wtf

Motorcraft changed the part up a few months ago. No longer a filter. Ford apparently thinks that filtered air for the *** isn't necessary.

Interesting.

This video says that they are about $15 at the dealer, FWIW.

Yeah - those don't look like mine.

Maybe they got changed? I can't speak to that.

Here's the link to them on Amazon:
Amazon.com: Motorcraft FS-104 Air Filter: Automotive Amazon.com: Motorcraft FS-104 Air Filter: Automotive

About $23/each and the picture shows a filter.

Does that mean I can just remove the filter now? Haven't had one apart yet.
