Default No trans. dipstick

So the other day I was under the hood of my brand new 2014 with a 5.0L and noticed that it does not have a transmission dip stick any more. How is the fluid level checked now? Does fluid have to be pumped in from underneath truck when it needs changed or is there another way to do it?

The dealer will try and tell you it's uncheckable.

This is a lie as you can see from the other posters.

Fluid change is done via a flush using the transmission lines - push/pull using the transmission pump and a new fluid source.

I use a modified pump up sprayer with clear vinyl hose and a threaded adaptor on the end. I used it to fill my '05 Explorer 5R55 trans thru the internal stand pipe in its pan and have fabbed a "J" hook end to fill my 6R80 thru the dipstick hole (as in your picture you posted). I can check the trans temp on the Explorer with my Auto Enginuity to be sure it is in the proper the range for the level indicated. I will use the Gauge function on my F150 to check its trans temp.

Default ATF Pump

Here is a pic of my ATF fluid pump. The 1/8" pipe nipple was used to fill my trans on the Explorer and the "J" hook tube will screw onto the nipple once I complete it with a bushing for the compression fitting. I already had the other parts for the adaptor in my shop. I built the pump before I got the F150, so the adaptor was an afterthought.
