Considering that Ford DID take government money, and they took theirs BEFORE GM and Chrysler, my opinion is that these are the dumbest decals I've ever seen.

The "facts" are, that all of the car manufacturers have taken money over the years. *But*, Ford refused to take the $5,000,000,000 "bailout" that GM and Chrysler did take. Then, not only did GM and Chrysler take the $5 Billion (each), but then they EACH filed bankruptcy against all their creditors (which is why they claimed they needed the $5 Billion from the gov't to pay off).

To date, neither GM nor Chrysler paid back their bailout loans. Yes, GM actually paid the government back the $5 Billion, but they simply borrowed it from another source. So now they claim "yeah, we paid it back", when in fact they still owe it.

Now, Chrysler still couldn't make it on their own after taking the $5 Billion, and filing bankruptcy, so they sold 50% of themselves to Fiat. After about 2 years, they STILL couldn't make a go of it, so they all but forced Fiat to buy the other 50%. Now Fiat has set aside $8 Billion for all the expected recall litigation that Chrysler brought with them.

Add to that, when the report came out late last year rating the top 5 "least reliable" car (according to owner surveys), the 5 were: 1-Fiat; 2-Dodge; 3-Ram; 4-Jeep; 5-Mercedes Benz.

Do your own research. I say wear your "No Bailout Edition" with a sense of pride.
