Hard shift/Clunk - 2013 EB FX4 Screw, short bed, 3.55
Wondering if anyone else out there is or has been experiencing a lag/hard shift and clunk when driving in traffic - speeding up/slowing down.
I am getting a hard shift/clunk when in traffice at about 20 mph/1500 rpm. When slowing down then hitting the gas to speed up in stop and go type traffic. When starting to accelerate - rpms go up fast and then the geard engaged and you here a clunk and feel the jerk - like when pulling a trailer from a stop - you have clunk when starting off. Seems to be happening more and more. Noticable when you slow down to make a turn at an intersection - but is is not noticable when you come to a complete stop. Is this a slip/yoke thing or something different?
Truck has about 17k miles on it

Might need to be reprogrammed at ford if it's the same issue I had. Since they updated mine it shifts fine.

I had "have" this issue with the same truck only it's a 5.0.
The dealer said they fixed (cleaned and reinstalled the drive train yoke)
The cluck was gone for a short period but is back.

It has to do with your programming on your ECU...Ford will need to do an update for you...either that, or get a custom tune to fix the issue...might check with your dealer to see if there is a TSB out for your VIN...

As others have suggested, I'd recommend making an appointment at your dealership so they can inspect. Be sure to come back and let us know what you hear; I'll be here if you need any help.

Hard shift from first to second
My 2012 eco Screw has had the intermittent hard shift with clunk at low speed since it was new. I have had it in to the dealer twice once for the drive shaft lube and then for the pinon shims. No help, I told the dealer I am trying to get more definitive info so they can duplicate it. Near as I can tell it happens at low speed (I think shifting from 1st to 2nd) It happened a lot the other day when we were garage sailing (going slow, starting and stopping) I do know it feels like you have been rear ended with a loud clunk/bang, now my wife is upset about too.
Any help would be appreciated, Crystal

My truck does the same thing. Sometimes 1st to 2nd is smooth and other times it is rough. Found out a few months ago my trans fluid was about a quart low. After adding fluid it did shift better and dealer said trans was up to date on programing, but I still get that rough shift. I plan on ordering a 15 next year so I just live with it now.
