Default Nitto Trail Grapplers

Just bought a new 2014 f150 xlt ecoboost 4x4. Im looking into Nitto Trail Grapplers but i cant figure out this whole offset thing for new rims. i want the ultra baron 17x9 rims with +25mm offset so i figured with stock being 17x7.5 with +44mm offset they will be close to the same based on placement on the inside of the wheel well. I want to put the 285/70-17 trail grapplers on the ultra 17x9 rims I dont have a lift or level and dont really want one but if anyone is running a setup close to this or knows if this will work for me with no rub. Or at least point me in the right direction to what might work better rims wise please let me know thanks!

The inner edge of the wheel will sit at the same place in the wheel well (the two wheels have the same backspacing), but the outer edge will stick out 1.5" more than stock due to the increased wheel width.

Do you know if the new tires will rub though without a level?

I have 35x12.50R20 Trail Graps with a 20x9 +20 offset and do not have any rubbing issues but I am leveled.

I have a +20mm and I think it's perfect. Just flush with the outer edges of the factory FX4 flares. The Trail Grapplers are good tires. Fairly noisy and ride rough if your roads are like crap like they are in WV. Performance and wear have been fantastic. I went with a 295 70 18 on an 18x9 wheel. I have a 2" level and 3" rear block (to keep some rake). Zero rubbing or trimming.

Does the offset change the chances of the tire rubbing on the front valance or mud flaps?

Yes, a lower offset will increase chances of rubbing in those spots.
