Default Platinum - Two "Audio" Questions

Firstly, how do you take the center dash coin tray/speaker cover off? Does it just pop off with gentle encouragement?

Second question - the Nav voice command prompts sound very scratchy/static-like, like a blown speaker. The radio and everything else does not exhibit the same sound. Anyone else run across that?

Many thanks!!

not sure on the speaker, I'd presume so but not 100% sure

regarding the voice, Mine was really crappy for a while when I had accidentally lowered the volume on the nav voice. try increasing the volume and see if it gets more clear. wait for it to start talking then turn the volume *** to adjust it and see if that changes anything for you.

I haven't tried it yet but I think the dash speaker is accessed by removing the rubber surround tray in to expose some screws.

The crappy sound of the navigation was due to a defective speaker. I lived with it but then the driver's side door speaker started to intermittently cut-out. When that was replaced the navigation/command voice was normal.

You are right on the centre speaker. The mat comes off and there are two screws/bolts and it just slides out. Mine had a squeak so I have taken it out half a dozen times to pack different foam and whatnot in there to quiet it (speaker wasn't squeaking, the housing was a bit loose and squeaked against the dash).
