Brake Dust (or actually lack of it)
I have had my 2010 F-150 for 2 months now. I have the 20" aluminum wheels (didn't want the plastic "chrome" cover) and factory brake pads. I clean my truck frequently but I am surprised by the lack of brake dust. Even after pulling my RV which always led to heavy dust in the past does not result in blackened wheels.
Am I just getting lucky, cleaning the truck to frequent, or are the new brakes really simply putting off less dust. What have you guys experienced?

It's funny you mention this. I was telling my wife today that the wheels are staying clean and there is not as much brake dust grime as I had on my 2007 Volvo S60R

I have an 09 and have yet to see any brake dust. Granted my summer wheels are black but even in the winter with the stock rims on I didn't see any. I even pulled our 4 place snowmobile trailer to the mountains and didn't notice any dust. Although the " engine brake" while in tow haul mode really saves the brakes the mountains. I do wash my truck every week so that helps too and I came from a 99 so I never had to deal with any brake dust

I just did a 600 mile road trip with my 09 last week and I had very little brake dust. I noticed the lack of dust last fall after a 1000 mile trip. They must have changed something for the 09's too.

no, my 09 pads were bad too, I changed the pads out a few weeks after I bought the truck. Did the same thing for my old 04 FX4, swapped the pads right after buying it. 2010 seems to be much better...
