Glad to hear that you're heading in to the dealer, whitescrew77. If you run into any issues, let me know and I'll do what I can to help.

Well... the fix didn't work. I pushed the rear defroster button last night to check that it was working. No go. Nothing. Broke. Apparently the 'loose connection' wasn't the fix, or at least what the dealership did to secure the fix was only temporary. Calling Ford as soon as their service dept opens today.

I wonder if they give me the same runaround.

Ok this was interesting. I was initially told the new window was not covered by my extended warranty and that the repair would cost 600$. I asked to speak to whoever is responsible for warranty and they discovered that they accidentally looked up the wrong part number - the window instead of the defroster. Anyway I finally got a new window and only had to pay the 100$ deductible. I'm sure it was an honest mistake.

What's your model year and mileage, Laxman09? I'll look into ways to help.

Would my 2014 (April 2014 build date) have the "updated" rear window?

I hear everyone getting a new window to fix the problem but I'm wondering is the new window an update that they found something wrong with the old one or is Ford just putting in a new window with the same problem. I know it is only happening to select few of us but it seems like there could be a defect with it.

Just talked to dealer. Slider has bad contacts for defroster. It is going to have to be replaced under warranty. Whole back glass. Maybe ford didn't test this in the real world enough?

Thanks for following up, Laxman09. Reach out to me via PM with your info and I'll loop in your regional customer service manager. In your message, please include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage estimate, and preferred servicing dealership. I'll move this up the line.
