Right now, I have the BFGs T/A KO's 285/65r18. I lost a little, on both gas and acceleration, but nothing that I am freaking out about. I went from a consistent 16.+ mpg to 14.6-15.5. The power is only noticeable on the initial gas, but if I have to get around something, it takes off. I drive it pretty light. I don't run and gun at all, unless I am trying to get around someone.

Snow- So, if I were to increase my tires to 34's or 35's, you think I would still be okay with the 3.55?

I appreciate everyone's input.

I just did 4.56's... I have an '09 with the 5.4... Stock gears were 3.55's and once I went up to 315/70/17 Bag's, it sucked!!!!! Forever trying to find the right gear on the highway and sluggish... Accounting for the added weight of the tires, I went with 4.56's... All fixed now...

Well put Gibby. Any other adaptive issues that required dealing with, speedo adjustment etc?

I got the Mickey Thompson 35/13.5, after lift and tires surely gas dropped, as well as perfomance. Hopefully gears and some little mods will resolve the issue. will keep this thread updated.

Sorry for the delay, but if you're still reading, here you go...

I've been using a programmer, so I just plugged in the new specs and went.. Several months later, zero regrets on 4:56's

I am running 295/70/18's with 3.55 gears at about 70lbs a piece. I noticed it is a little less responsive when lightly accelerating but it will still break the tires loose when I punch it. I towed 5500 lbs a few weeks ago for a couple 100 miles and it did great. No searching for gears or lack of power.

Go with 4.10. I have 34.1 lt tires with a 5.0 3.73 gears. It's fine and hasn't lost any mpg. But if your going wider than 275 just go with 4.10.
