I ordered some 4300K bulbs to replace the 6000K's.

To the guy asking how to do this... all you need is a H10 conversion kit. You install the ballasts and the bulbs. It took me an hour after watching a youtube video how to do it... really not too hard.

Heres a kit for $40 with ballasts and bulbs, 5000K so whiter than the ones I got.

So when mounting the ballasts do you have to drill into the bumper?

yes, well, the black plastic guard behind the bumper, just 2 tiny holes to screw the ballasts on with. you will never even see the holes unless you get on all 4's and climb under the truck.

Just for some comparison here..

These bulbs are 480 lumens each.
The stock halogen fog bulbs on our trucks are roughly 900 lumens.
My HID bulbs are 3200 lumens.

To instal simply plug the new harness into factory harness then new bulb into housing then mount the ballast for each side? I remember watching a video on the headlights and you had to ground them as well.

I didn't ground them with a relay, I think you only need to do that if you hook it straight to the battery. Just unplug the stock bulb, plug the connector to the ballast input, connect the hid bulb to the ballast output, mount ballast and enjoy.

Well I watched a video on it and it seemed like there were 5 different wires. I may try it out for 40 bucks. You can switch back to halogen very easily I assume?

Just plug the halogen bulb back in and unplug the ballast if you're not happy. That should take about 40 seconds on a slow day...

It's quite simple to switch back to halogens as you won't cut any wires.

The most difficult part of putting in these plug and play HIDs is mounting the ballast and even that is easy.

It's one of those projects that seems more intimidating then it actually is and once you do it you will be glad you did.
