New BFGoodrich KO2 285/65/20 Installed!!
I had my new tires installed last week. BFGoodrich All Terrain KO2, 285-65-20. I am very happy with the look and feel of them. Some initial observations:
On Road: I was surprised at how quiet these tires are, even more so than the KO's and not far off the Pirelli's. The rubber compound feels softer to me, this may have something to do with it. They balanced well and there is no vibration, up to about 120km/hour on the highway.
Off Road: Hit up a couple of dirt roads on the weekend and they feel planted and in control. I will have more experience in more difficult situations as the ATV season moves into the fall.
Look: I think they look amazing, perfect combination of aggressive tread and on road performance. I think they took a direct run at the Duratrac, which is also highly rated. The main tread has more separation, and obviously there are the side wall changes which adds a more appealing look and presumably increased snow and mud traction. Snow traction is important here on the East coast of Canada.
Fuel Economy: This is a much bigger tire than the stock Pirelli that it replaced. That said, my economy has only been impacted by about 1mpg in my limited driving.
How does the truck feel: The 3.5TT with 3.73 gears has no trouble turning these. No noticeable impact here. The tires are 60lbs each. The ride is stiffer being an LT. I like the ride better.
I have had numerous people staring at the tires, likely trying to determine what they are. Others have asked about them.
Here are a few pics, I am super happy with these. The truck has a AS 1.5 level. I will post some better pictures when I get the time.

Is it possible to get a Blackwall in that size? Or are both sides of tire white? I like those tires but the white walls wouldn't go good with my truck.

All black version "coming soon" or you can turn the white in for this size. Most other available sizes are black side wall only.
