Default Need some recs on good speakers to replace stock

Well, this sound system sucks bad in my Lariat (non sony). I'm not looking to add any subs or anything, just make it sound a little bit better. It's plenty loud enough but it sounds like my computer speakers from a decade ago. I want something with good quality and I know absolutely nothing about speakers. Here are my questions. The BOSE speakers in my tahoe spoiled me rotten.

What is a good value for both front and rear speakers in your opinion?
What do components offer that others don't?
What size would I need? and are these all just plug and play from the existing speakers?
Will I need an amp? I'd rather not spend money on one, but if it makes a big difference, than I'll go that route.

I searched but want all my answers in this thread. Thank you

I replaced all 4 speakers in my truck with Polk audio DB571's. Best bang for the buck. No amp, nothing other than just the speakers and harness connectors that allow non butchering of oem harness,...Plug-n-play. Sounds pretty good, much better than stock for sure.

Amazon.com: Polk Audio DB571 5-by-7-Inch Coaxial Speakers (Pair, Black): Car Electronics Amazon.com: Polk Audio DB571 5-by-7-Inch Coaxial Speakers (Pair, Black): Car Electronics

.

Make sure you get the metra harness adapters, they come 2 to a pack so only order 2 for quantity.

Great. I have some Polk audio stuff at home that I'm pretty happy with. Are the front and backs both 5x7? How difficult is it to get to the speakers in the doors. HUGE PITA on my old jeep.

I put four of these Infinity 6832 speakers in my '13 Crew XLT a few months ago. The sound is a HUGE improvement. The first door took me about an hour. I did the next three doors in one additional hour. I got the adapter wiring - makes the job easy.

Yep all 4 are identical. Getting the door panels off is not difficult at all. Check youtube for vids, that's what I did.

If you know how to use a screwdriver, then yes! Very simple to swap the Tweeters out...

D.S. Is held in place by metal snap in pieces, which just pull out! Passenger side is the Same, After you remove 2 bolts for the Grab Handle!

I have the Infinity Kappa 682.11cf and love them. I have an Alpine MRX-F65 amp powering them and they scream. Never heard highs so high. I also have 2-10" JL Audio subs powered by an Alpine MRP-M500 amp for the low end.
