Need advice....possible 2011 XLT purchase
Good Afternoon,
I will keep it quick. Two weeks ago I was in a auto accident and totaled my 2008 Honda Ridgeline that I loved. Accident was not my fault and it threw me into the auto market when I was really not wanting to be. I am looking at a 2011 XLT with Ecoboost V6. It's the crew cab with 45k miles. Clean Carfax, bed of truck is spotless, as is rest of the truck. I feel like it's a good clean truck. My holdback is concerns over gas mileage and the EB not getting close to advertised miles. The display states 15.9 is the current MPG. My Ridge got 17.5 to 18 and I average 70 miles a day. Everyone I have asked local have said to stay away from EB. Opinions seem to be mixed here. With the cost of the truck, I am being very careful to make a solid decision. What feedback do you all have? Thanks in advance!

Exactly. If you want a REAL truck get one. If you want Great fuel milage buy a Prius, but you won't find a better performing/ towing vehicle than the Ford F150's. They blow the truck competition out of the water.

I love pretty much everything about my ecoboost......... except the fuel mileage and the payment. It doesn't come anywhere close to the advertised 16/21 MPG. Otherwise it's a great truck. Plenty of power, much more refined than my 06 ram diesel, pulls my travel trailer well, quiet

It is close. Of course what you're seeing is after everyone who has driven it has had their foot in it.

Truck is a 13 4x4 Screw max-tow 3.73. I bought my truck in November last year. Over last winter I couldn't break 14MPG. Once it warmed up I was right around 16 on 87 octane. Tried a few tanks of 92 octane and mileage went up to 17, but 1MPG isn't worth the extra $.30-.40/gal difference. Now that its getting cold again the mileage is creeping back down. 15.5 and dropping. 80% of my miles are at highway speeds, 60-75mph

A lot really depends on the rear end gearing. I know that with my 3.73 vs kenferg1's 3.31, you'll get better mpgs with his. But I didn't buy mine for mpgs, I bought it for towing and didn't want to have to limit myself. Well, not that I can tow a semi truck or anything.
In the summer though without towing anything, I could get 18-19 mpg on the highway.

Also have to consider everyone starting it up to test drive it and it sitting there. Not sure how much it affects the EB but on my 5.0 if I leave it at idle warming up in the driveway it usually drops 2 mpg while sitting there at idle.
