Not so Commander316

Congrats! I have the same year, model, and color. I have been driving crew cab superduty diesels since 1996. Decided to go with a supercab 150 because A my kids are grown, and B been there done that with crewcabs for 16 years. Long before most people new a 4 door truck existed.

I removed the 20" wheels and went with 17" and 35 x 12.5 tires due to the better off road capabilities. Had 20's on my last truck as well, not a fan. But that's just me. Good luck.

My uncle went from a 4 door 04 150 to a supercab 2010 FX4. Reason being because he doesn't need the extra room due to his kids growing up and wanted the extra bed space. All for a cheaper price. Sounds good to me.

Well... I just HATE the look of the 157WB and needed a 6.5bed... what are my options? Even if I wouldn't need a 6.5 box the SCaB looks, in my opinion, better than a SCrew (no offense to anybody. Also, the SCrew is about 200lbs heavier. Price had nothing to do with my decision.

And finally, 95% of the time I'm alone in my truck or with someone sitting in front. For the remaining 5% the kids will be just fine at the back. It is not as bad as someone would think when you see a SCab on the street. The space is about the same as in my 4 doors Nissan Sentra. I know it will be a pain sometime to access the back seats when in a tight parking spot... in my case this almost never happens.

Too bad the max tow in the states requires the dumbo mirrors. You canadians are lucky! (And a 3.55 gear option on fx4s, but no 4.10 option)

Anybody ever wonder why Ford does that? Is towing a trailer different in Alberta than it is in MN? LOL

OP: Nice truck, looks great.

Yes because us Canadians don't use our mirrors while towing, that's in our culture ;-) HAHA

I know, it doesn't make any sense but I'm happy to be able to get those mirrors instead of the dumbo ones!

Thanks for the compliment

Sure it is. We buy more trailers around here so Ford squeezes more money out of us to flop for the tows. Logic.

Actually I believe the only trim that you can get max tow without tow mirrors is the FX, since they sell quite a bit of them around here people wanted the benefits of max tow (whole package was only $200 more than the trailer brake controller itself) but they didn't want to deal with some big antlers sticking out. I dunno. All part of the Canadian experience....pay more for less. Only in some cases though
