I'm honestly hesitant to buy new after this. So far I've had one dealership ignore a problem until the heads half fell apart. Then made twelve, hour and a half trips on my gas and still haven't fixed the problem. When I've called ford Canada all I get is "We aren't responsible for what the dealerships do, take it back to the shop" I have power train and I purchased a $3700 extended warranty, I'm still not exactly sure what there for but I probably could have purchased an old truck out of the buy&sell and fixed it for what I spent on the extended alone

A shame about your first Ford experience. Sounds as though the two dealerships you have been to are not good performers.
I have had very good new and used Ford vehicles throughout the years. Did have one bad one back in 1974, all others very good and good service from numerous Ford service shops.
Whatever your next vehicle is (new or used), spend some time doing some research and get to know the dealer/person you buy from.

maybe it's me, but from what I've been reading Canada in general has crap for dealer and service quality. many of the "more recent" issues have all come from the north. I'm extremely pleased with my dealer and wouldn't hesitate to buy used (and didn't, got a CPO), but man it sounds like across the board it's not really "ford" problems but more dealer problems that cause these threads in the majority of cases.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

I had that same thought. Sure seems to be more issues from up North.

Nope. She is specific to this forum. Someone in here surely knows the name. I think maybe ford canada or something like that?

To be honest I think it has to do with two things. Canada's lack of a lemon law and Ford's unwillingness to address dealer issues. The best Ive had was "book an appointment and i'll call them. After the appointment I'll call you to go over things" Never received a call back and no repair made.

And thanks Cobra. I'll have a look around and try and find the user name.

Well it sucks that you cannot get some good Ford service in Canada.
I bought my first new Ford in 1972 and have done business with numerous Ford dealers throughout the years. Everything has not been perfect with every service but I have never had an issue that did not get resolved.
Good luck with your search for better service.

No lemon law in Canada?
