Default lifting 2012 platinum.

So I have never in my life lifted a vehicle (aside from my golf cart). But im ready to have it done on the f150. No nothing about what I need to do. I want a 6" lift. I want to keep my stock wheels but of course know I need bigger tires to not look retarted. But not sure what size tires to get.

So I basically need the complete schooling on what to buy, what will maintain the stock ride the best, and what wills till let me be able to tow 5-7500 pounds every now and then. Im going to have it professionally installed, but want to bring them the kit to install. Thanks!

The only lift kit out there that give you springs instead of blocks is the Skyjacker lift and they require 20" wheels. I haven't seen a lift that lets you keep 17" wheels, but most of the other lifts will work for 18's.

Platinums come with 20" wheels. However, I don't think you'll be able to use them due to the offset required to run a tire wide/tall enough to fill the lift. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

This was the case with mine. I had factory 22" HD factory wheels which had a +44 offset which I think is around a 7-7.5" backspacing. Most lifts require around a 5" backspace. I really like my 6" BDS lift. It has the back spacer blocks and not the extra spring, but it had the longer struts and not the front spacers.

ok so what brands are best. Also 35" is that going to look ok on 20" wheels? Or can I fit bigger ones? I want it to have a real aggressive look. ALso want to change the bumpers out to those beefy looking steel ones, who has a good brand for those?

There are a lot of good lifts, I would recommend getting a lift that comes with the longer front struts and rear shocks.
These are 325/65 20's. If I remember correctly they are about 35.3" tall. I like the look. I did have some rubbing on the inside of the bumper and had to trim away a chunk of the plastic on the inside of it. I'm not sure how different my bumper is compared to yours but I wouldn't want to go bigger on mine even though I think they say you can fit 37's
