Default Mud on Platinum Automatic Running Boards - Solutions?

Problem: excessive amounts of mud collect on top of Platinum Automatic Running boards when in stowed position.

CAUSE: Mud spins off tire tread and is funneled into void between bottom of floorboards and top of stowed running boards.

EFFECT: a muddy mess on top of the running board

I would like to solve the problem without mudflaps. I was thinking of a cut-down mudflap inserted up inside the fender in front of the stowed floor board. Problem is, there is no good place to attach it.

Anyone have any solutions?

Just got off the telephone with my brother-in-law, discussing the same problem with his new Platinum. Today he had mud-guards installed on all four wheelwells. I believe he paid $65 for all four installed. Below is link to producer. Mike

Yea, I got the Ford mud flaps, and it has reduced the problem. Mud can probably still get on them if it splashes up off the ground, but the amount that comes off the tires should be limited. Overall though the flaps seem to fix the problem.

Instructions on the Husky site says drilling is required. Not happening with me.

Drilling to install is not on my agenda either, but I might have to change my mind if nothing else works. More mud washed out today on the short drive to work on wet roads. More mud deposited on the running boards.

I suppose I could stop driving on muddy dirt roads. NAH!

Yeah; for some reason mud just doesn't look appropriate on the running boards of a Platinum! But then the running boards look gimicky anyway.
