what sort of mp3 player do you have? putting mp3's on a usb flash drive is the best/easiest method.

Could be a silly question....did you tell Sync to use the USB?

Talking about the USB Port,I use a Flash Drive stick. Buy a 2G for $8 and you can load over a thousand tunes on it ( and it's only the size of your little finger ).

I use my Phillips MP3 and it works fine in my truck, but I threw my Wife's Sport Trac and it gave me a error message, something about unsupported and /or protected or unprotected songs? I changed the song and then it played fine. I think it was trying to play song that I had originally burned to a CD from my home computer and loaded on my laptop which I then loaded on my MP3. Not sure if the is your issue, just saying....

My Philips works too, it gives the speech about unprotected, unsupported, blah blah, then plays just fine. Same with the usb stick.
I think the message is about protecting Ford/Microsoft from legalities of using downloaded MP3's instead of purchased materials.
