Default Missing on Acceleration

2011 Eco Boost
Lariat
Crew
107,000 miles

I floored it to pass someone and it starting hesitating really bad like a really bad miss. The engine light started blinking and then it stayed on. The light is on and the truck seemed to have smoothed out but would do it all over again if I accelerated too fast. I have no clue as to what might be going on. I am going to a local shop tomorrow to see what code they show since the engine light is on.

This is all over the forum and internet.
search f150ecoboost stumble, stutter, loss of power.
It's most likely water ingestion from your intercooler. Also, Im sure you have by now with over 100k miles, change your plugs, gapped to .030
if you have never changed your plugs that could be the issue

With that mileage you need new spark plugs, maybe cop's as well, probably has a cylinder misfire code as that is the only time you get a flashing check engine light.

It amazes me how many people don't search for their issue before posting. I bet a solid 80% of posts have been previously answered.

Look in the engine forum for the intercooler drill thread and read up.

I changed the spark plugs and drilled a small hole in the drivers side, lowest point in the inter cooler. I drove it right after and it still did it when I floored it. I assume it takes a while for the condensation to go away? A good bit of brown milky substance drained out when I drilled the hole.

when my '11 had the issue, I was able to mitigate it by downshifting before flooring it. say I'm rolling in 6th and need to pass, i'll drop to 4 or 3 with the manual clicker, then floor it instead of just flooring it and waiting for the truck to downshift.

Take it for what it's worth could have been just a lucky coincidence!

Lol, ya then his post possibly would have been "my 5.0 engine is making a knocking sound, is this normal?!"
