Middle seat/Jump seat to Center Console Swap
This weekend I swapped my middle seat to an XLT center console. I purchased a 2012 steel grey/black XLT console from ebay it came with 4 mounting bolts.
Here are a couple pics of the stock setup...I knew on the way home from the dealership I wasn't going to like this 40/20/40 setup. I couldn't be more happy with how this turned out! It's totally changed the feeling of the interior.
We ended up removing both front seats to make this easy.
Don't forget the electrical connecter---
Middle seat/jump seat connects with 4 bolts to a metal bracket attached to the floor--
Here are some pics of the bracket--
Once the middle seat was removed we then set the console on the bracket and pushed it as far forward as possible, then marked the bracket with a marker and drilled the new holes--
A couple pics of it installed and bolted down--

Great write up. I'm sitting down to look on eBay for a XLT style center seat that has the cup holder plus the storage, but idk I think I might like the console setup also. How much did you pay for the console?

It was more than I would have liked to spend...however it was in perfect condition and was a dead match for my interior.
Just an FYI-- If purchased new it would have been near $1200 piecing it together, as you cannot buy the console assembly...all the parts are separate.

That was a lot of work. I just removed the four bolts, placed the center console on the frame and screwed in the self tapping 10 mm bolts. Took 15 mins. I wish I could sell my middle seat but it has Katskin leather on it so it doesn't match with the stock interior. Your looks great. Here's mine.
