Metra vs. Scosche
Well, I was going to try to post this in the Electrical, Lights, and Audio section but the forum wouldn't let me...
So I bought a new head unit for my 2012 STX. I had a base stereo, no sync, no steering wheel controls.
I bought the Pioneer AVH-P4400BH from Crutchfield and did the install myself. They include the Metra dash kit. I really don't like the bezel in a bezel design so I decided to buy the Scosche dash kit. I don't think either kit is better or worse than the other in terms of build. They're both adequate pieces of plastic. The Scosche has the advantage of having an EXACT double-DIN opening rather than a bigger opening with a bezel.
The head unit is great and the bluetooth works better than my factory Mustang Electronics Package. I have no desire for a subwoofer in the truck but the HU is capable of providing output for amps. It's also expandable with satellite radio and navigation although the navigation upgrade is a bit pricey. My primary reasons for this head unit were the USB and rear-view camera input.

I use the Metra dash kits for my iPad panels, and even though I cut them up I am very happy with the fit and finish of the contour lines and such. The scosche opening just looks way too small for the dash to me. At least having the bezel inside the bezel design makes the screen look a little larger. They're both good.
