So i thought i would post my last 2 oil analysis results from Blackstone Labs.

Oil change intervals are roughly 5000 miles. all Done at the Dealer at their cost.

It's your money but this is really a waste. There is no earth shattering information to be had here. There is already another thread on this process and the uselessness of it from a public sector perspective. Now, a multi-million dollar manufacturing business...makes all the sense in the world.
Do you know what all these numbers mean? What's the upper threshold limit for your system application? What aren't you seeing that you should? Did you have the filter media cross-sectioned for further analysis...what order of magnitude are these numbers elevated in the media? (Filter efficiency may give you a clue on some of these numbers).
Really, its a truck engine...who cares.

I care that's all that matters since its MY truck. do what the **** you want with your but this is mine. do i know what all the numbers mean no. do i know what some of the numbers mean yes. and yes i split the filters too

main reason i did this from day one is trend analysis. as of right now i don't have fuel getting into my oil. i have a history documented if it ever does. its my own piece of mind

I for one, appreciate you posting your results. What oil did you run for each OCI? If you haven't already, you should post over at BITOG too. You'd certainly get more useful responses over there.

X2 On the appreciation of the post.

RogueGT, you slammed my post of oil analysis but then I ran through most of your posts and you make a habit of derogatory remarks so I am not going to pay much attention to you.

richardscalp, I also ran through your posts and their is a high percentage of negative vibes out of yours so I will also pay no attention to whatever you have to say.

You know some folks pay money for a cell phone mount and I will pay for a oil analysis, especially when my oil has been compromised by fuel.

Don't mind the swinging purses. I'm sure many will find your info useful.

I just got my analysis back after the second oil change. Ford did the first one at 3000+ miles. In the middle of a 3000 mile trip while operating in rain for hours, I encountered a shudder and flashing check engine for a few seconds until everything settled down. Ford applied TSB 14-0017 (the TSB reference in the report). Having had analysis experience for many years in aviation I'm sold on the benefits. I've used Blackstone for several motorcycles and the reports resulted in the change of a BMW motorcycle transmission, in the garage rather than having it fail on the road. It's good to know something's coming, I don't like surprises. Also, Blackstone offers the ability to export without personal data so you don't have to black out anything. When you log in to the website to get your report, just above 'Lab Number' bar is a box 'Export without personal data'.

Thanks for starting the thread

Just out of curiosity I am no scientist but what do these reports mean to the average person, I have 5.0 and check and change the oil on a regular basis always before the recommended change date etc
