Default Max tow rear view mirror

I just ordered an f150 ecoboost with, among other things, the max tow package and the convinience package. The convinience package adds the auto dim rear view mirror, but the max tow package removes it. Im kindof bummed. Does any one know why this is? Can it be changed out afterward?

You still get the inside auto dim, but the trailer tow mirrors don't have it. The only exterior that has it is the driver's side standard mirror. It dims out with the interior one.

My max tow package didn't remove my auto dim mirror... It did, however, remove the power fold mirrors, because Ford doesn't offer towing mirrors with power fold (yet).

I have a 2011 XLT ecoboost with Max tow and all other packages offered and my truck doesn't have the auto dim rear view mirror...

Looks like the XLT's loose the auto dim rearview with the max tow and the FX4's and Lariat's keep it. As long as there is nothing special in the mirror like a microphone for Sync I would think I could just swap it out with an aftermarket one.

I've had the auto dim mirrors in the past and while they are useful in cars when there is a truck behind you with their headlights beaming in your back window, In a truck it's just not that usefull especially with a tinted rear window.

Default Is it a Gentex one?

Could you please tell us the s/n or code your autodim INTERIOR rearview mirror has?

It was probably made by Gentex ... and maybe has or not the legend FoMoCo.

Thanks in advance.

Mine: F-150 XLT 4x2 - no autodim
