Default Anyone have the new BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain tires?

I'm planning to replace the stock Pirelli's when my truck arrives, and I'm considering the new BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain's.

I was considering the Goodrich All-Terrain KOs, but they're almost twice the cost and I won't be needing a serious off-road tire. I'll drive 95% of the time on pavement, but I just want some additional aggressive tread and ability to have decent traction on dirt, gravel, and grass. I'm also thinking of increasing the size slightly to 33".

Has anyone here purchased the Rugged Terrains? If so, how do you like them?

well if your truck is a 4wd and is equpied with the pirelli atr's then there wont be much diffrenc in tread pattern or performance vs the bf goodrich, IMO pirelli's suck! but chanigng them to a tire with the same tread does not make sense. i changed them but to a whole diffrent tire.

I seen these tires on a truck that was at my work for repair they look really nice, the side wall is pretty nice looking makes it look like a offroad tire

I love BFG MT or AT but the Rugged Trails suck. They came stock on my wife's Tacoma and were bald in 30K. A guy I work with had them on his Tacoma and they were also bald around 30-35K.

I have them and really like them. They ride very nice and smooth. I do feel more bumps in the road compared to the stock Goodyears. I have only driven on the road with them, no off roading so I can't comment on them. Went with a 275/70/18.

If those are BFG Rugged Trails, they are completely redsigned. That tread pattern is no where near what I've seen, it's much more aggressive.

The OP was asking about the Rugged Terrains, not the Rugged Trails that come stock on Tacomas and Dakotas etc. Two completely different tires. The Rugged Terrain is a new design from BFG so there's probably not a bunch of reviews out there yet.

OK, gotcha. Those Rugged Terrain's look pretty tough.

Default BFG Rugged Trails stink

The BFG Rugged Trails melt away like hot butter. Have had 2 sets on Toyo Tacoma truck and neither could make 30,000 miles. Kept them rotated so wear was even all around----just no miles in them. Would never buy them again at any price. Don't know about Rugged Terrains---just wanted to warn against Rugged Trails. I personally wouldn't buy the Rugged Terrains based on poor mileage life I had from the Rugged Trails----on the assumption that a new tread design doesn't equal more mileage life.
