Default Lug nuts

When I finally get my 2012 f150 I want to get new rims for it. The tire shop says the lug nuts that come with the truck will not fit the aftermarket wheels I want they are to big. So what lug nuts do I need we're to get them and how much?

you can probably go on ebay and type in F150 conical lug nuts and find them. they just have to be conical and not bulge acorn.

Are they sold in sets? Can I get wheel locks that work the same way! Tire shop guy told me they are hard enough to steel with his lug nuts.

Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Gorilla (lifetime warranty) lug nuts ...

*Part # 61108XL

BTW ... ROUSH used them on all of the F-150s.
Gorilla also has lock lug nuts.

^ Gorilla is good, and cheap. if you order wheels from tirerack.com they usually include a free set of Gorilla nuts for your aftermarket application and as he said, you can get locks as well. I don't waste my time with locks because all they do is slow me down when I work on my vehicles, and removing them without the special socket really isn't hard at all.

with any aftermarket wheel, yes. obviously make sure they have the correct thread (14x2.00) as well.

Im certainly no expert... doesn't it depend on what wheel you're getting?

Tapered vs. flat (lug nut) mating surface?

Does the wheel manufacturer specify the lug nut shape and you pick thread to fit the application?

The longer stock ones are to long if the wheel has a centre cap the wheel shop tells me

every aftermarket wheel uses a conical seat as far as I've ever seen. the only thing that may differ is whether the lugs are exposed, or covered. covered ones are usually open-ended and obviously shorter.

if it has a center cap that covers the lug nuts, yes.
