Default Lower blend door actuator replacement

Hi everyone, I followed the youtube video on how to replace lower blend door actuator. The only problem is that the video is simply a slide show of pictures and doesn't give very clear info on actually getting it out.

Here is where I'm stuck at.

How do I remove the lower duct work to get to the blend door actuator?

I had to cut the top right corner off of the rectangular duct plus cut the "fin" from that screw post. It was a real hack job for me!

Pretty much what BigKevy said i cut off the driver side eyelet and used a pry bar to get enough clearance. It was a hacky pain to do but it can be done. Good luck.

After the painful process of replacing this actuator, I'm not much further ahead. The "clicking" noise is gone, but temperature blending on the driver's side is still not working - all hot or all cold. I did perform the "calibration" as well - removed Fuse 15 (climate control) for 30 seconds - replaced - turned ignition switch to "on". I could hear the actuators driving for about 20 seconds - I figured for sure, I'm back in business! No luck. I guess there is another issue that I'm not aware of.

as much as I hate to say this, I think you need to replace the other actuator for the drivers side. I had to replace the lower one for when I did my passenger side, not driver. I know how bad the install is. Took me about 4 hours myself. But worth it.

Have you checked out FordTechMakuloco on youtube?

Not sure what years/trim you have but he has 4 or 5 videos up about the blend door fixes, they may help...
