Default Any idea how hard it will be to repair this? (got backed into)

A car backed into my truck in the parking lot this morning. Any idea what it will take for body shop to repair this?

Paintless repair?
New fender with paint match?
Will it just pop out?
Hammered out from inside?

My guess would be repair from the inside to hammer it back out, little or no paint required. But I'm not a body repair man. Good luck.

You can try pdr. But that's croaked right in a bad spot. I just repaired a 2014 explorer with almost the exact same dent. Our pdr guy did his best, and made it smaller, but couldn't fix it totally.

So.. do you think the body shop (at the dealership) will suggest replacing the fender? Or will they bang it out, then bondo, then paint? I'm assuming it's up to me? The person who did the damage is paying for it.

Most won't replace it. Most body men are paid by the work the do. Fixing something will pay them more than replacing it and still be cheaper for you. I'm not a body man but have a family member who is so I can't tell you what it might cost though.

Depends on you. If they are willing to pay for new. But then you will, or should blend the color. And you'll be looking at blending into the door and hood. Especially on silver.

Personally if it were my truck I would rather it be roughed out, and filled. Keep the color small, and blend within the panel. Looks like you need a new flare too.

Just my opinion but..... If it was mine, I would pop it out and put a set of pocket flares if they would cover it

I know if it were mine and it couldn't fixed without bondo, I would want it changed and PTM.

Just be glad that its not aluminum. A little straighten, some filler and blending the paint and you'll be good to go. Just make sure the body shop has a great reputation.
