For sound, its mostly about size of the engine. Theres no replacement for displacement. The new 3.7l v6 should sound even worse then compared to the old 4.2l v6. My first truck was a dodge with the 3.7l v6. I had a flowmaster 40 series w/ turndowns and i set off quite a bit of car alarms in my high school parking lot. It sounded good at idle, just when you stepped on the gas it wasnt that deep. I know its not the same engine but its around the the same size

i have NEVER heard any v6 with an exhaust sound good. Sounds like crap and all people are gonna do when they hear the annoying sound is point and laugh. Leave it stock and dress it up with some eye candy and you will catch positive attention that way
