I am in the market for a new truck and have been looking over the forum for a few days and I was wondering if you all had some imput for me. I am looking for a 2011 5.0 or 2010 5.4. my question is; are there any concerns I should look for? what should I keep my eye out for? Should I lean more to the 5.0 or 5.4? Anything you can let me know would be great, I dont want to get stuck with a bad truck.

the 5.0 is the more powerful engine (hp, peak torque). however, the 5.4 has substantially better low end torque if you do much towing.

also the 5.0 will likely pull out some better mpg. other than that your pretty much looking at the same truck. the transmission is the same.

both engines have their own sets of potential issues but neither to the point that i would give the edge to one or the other.
