My wife and I have the $100 rule as well!

back to the truck though, OP be aware that the gray interior on the platinum is not available on 2013's, just the 2010-2012 (maybe 2009?) 2013 interior choices are pecan or black.

I know your pain bro. I have to weigh divorce vs new truck when I get the itch. My wife has been more than accommodating in reality, just takes a while to get her there. Good luck.

Gheeze divorce vs a new truck? It ain't that serious. Unless it throws you behind in finances and cause a strain, why would divorce even be an option. Whoa...with the state of the world today, people need to lighten up some and take a chill pill.

OK, maybe I was exaggerating a bit. More of a figure of speech I guess.

I'm one to say, life is short, live it, enjoy it and be happy. If getting a new vehicle, "Toys", or whatever does not cause a strain on the finances, cause something else to lack because of it, then do it. We have a $100.00 rule in our house, anything over 100.00 is talked about and agreed on. My husband has worked hard, worked long hours and taken care of the kids while I have to travel with my job, so when he want stuff, I am in agreement because he deserves it and then some. My husband is awesome.
Sounds just like our house. Neither of us would spend a large sum of money without consulting with the other. It's just part of a partnership that has worked for us 37 years. More like 40 if you count time courting.

Yeah, I remember those days before marriage, kids lol. I would trade in & out of a vehicle just because and no other Rhyme or reason.

The biggest impulse buy I ever did was back in 2004 I moved to Texas and was driving a very nice, but very un-fitting for Texas '99 Civic Si. I wanted a TRUCK and a big one, was 25 years old lol. Went to lunch from my job and test drove a then new high output '05 Cummins Diesel Ram, QC, 4x4 with a lift kit already on it, it seriously didn't help that the sales gal was a smoking hot blonde about 28 or 30 who kept saying how good I looked in it lol.

Drove it home that evening and had a smile a mile wide over the next 3.5 years, until I got married and my wife made me sell it, saying it was too big for her to commute in anymore.

Now I have a mortgage, $2500/ month private school for two small kids, and a just "meh" plain old 2wd, Scab, XLT F-150. Op I feel your pain, I'm dying for a Platinum, FX or King Ranch right now but the wife says I've got to wait.

What sucks is that I don't even think I'm going to like the 2015+ trucks from what I see already and I don't want someone else's problem-dumped used '12-'13, 3-4 years from now. I have had bad luck with every used car I've owned over the last decade.

Wanted33 Awesome. I have been married 18 years, 20 years together. I'm looking forward to 40 years. That is cool.

Pool Runner Ha ha...the sales gal did her job, which was to get you to buy the truck by any means necessary. Okay again here it is, you got married and she made you sell the Ram. My question is she met you while you had it, I don't see why she "Made" you get rid of it because it did not fit her commute? Did she have a vehicle of her own at the time? I guess looking at it from a woman point of view, I don't get why people meet people, date, then when they get married, make them get rid of stuff. Now it is a different story if what you have to get rid of brings no value to the relationship/marriage, but if you date some one and dealt with it while dating, then when ya get married don't flip the script on people.
Hopefully you can trade up from your current truck to get what you want and will enjoy. Especially if it does not strain the budget. Oh and by the way, I guess getting rid of the Ram got you a Ford truck.

What I want and what I can afford are two different things, now. I would love a NEW truck, but know I can't afford that and be comfortable. I actually found an 08 Limited for about the same money as the Platinum I was looking at. Either way, I'm at $300 a month to get into another truck. Trying to sell the wife on that when I don't have that payment now is a very hard sell. I keep telling her it would be nicer than her kissing the dash with our son in the back seat of my Silverado. She's driving an 07 Explorer Limited with plenty of room but I don't like to take it all the time. I guess I'll just keep looking and looking and looking, maybe she will see the light.

Well.......I bought me a truck!!! The wifey stuck around too...LOL Anyway, I bought a 2010 Lariat Screw! Beautiful Candy Red with black leather. Loaded with roof, Sony, nav, max tow, 3:55 locker, heated/cooled seats, chrome package, 20's with new tires, spray in liner, power every freaking thing! I ABSOLUTELY love this truck! The room inside is just amazing. I was going to post some pics but I need to clean it again. It rained over the weekend. I'll get some up soon.
