Default Lighted cup holder

IF anyone had plans of using a lighted cup holder from a 06-12 ford fusion I'm posting to tell you its quite a bit smaller than the ones in our f150s. I purchased one off ebay because it looked to be the same size but its not. So don't waste your money, sorry people.

I used EL wire for mine and it turned out very well, lots of compliments. I tapped into the console shifter for power so it comes on automatically with the dash lights. Total project cost was under $25.

This is the thread I used to get me started, https://www.f150forum.com/f38/poor-m...talled-192946/

DylMyr, tko_818,

Thanks guys for the props and keeping the torch lit on my lighted ring options....see what i did there....talkin' bout lighting some cup holders...ok I'm done

ThomasM, reach out if you have any questions. the el wire install is a way simple less tinkering with the truck install. The LED variant offers all the same function as the oem version plus more And the best part, both options are very inexpensive to do

Steve, that's a clean looking install! I like the smooth flush look, subtle and effective

I've finally wrapped up my sound system upgrade, so my next tweak to the ambient light setup is to use some of these surface mount rgb leds and illuminate the door pockets:

NastyFFX4, check out my thread DylMyr referenced:

https://www.f150forum.com/f38/poor-ma...talled-192946/

it should answer most your questions, feel free to reach out with any additional questions you may have.

the technology of elwire is basically a copper filliment that glows then covered with a colored plastic cover to produce a desired color effect.

think Tron suits

I'm pleased with how mine turned out. One of my favorite budget-mods.
