a body lift keeps your suspension stock and raises the body of your truck (replaces stock body mounts.) I would recomend going with a sespesion lift.

If your in the air about and can't decide between a 2"-3" leveling kit or a 6" suspension kit, why not split the difference and consider a 4" Rancho suspension lift. Here's some pics of my FX4 Ecoboost SCrew with a 4" Rancho lift, with 325/65R18 (35's) - 5.75" BS on wheels. The good part is it fits in my garage with a 7' tall door (about 1/2" clearance), but my Buddy that has the Procomp 6" can't fit his truck in his garage. He's got standard Procomp shocks and I've got the Rancho Adjustable gas shocks. Personnel preference, but we both agree that my truck rides nicer than his, while he's simply got about and 1-1/2+ height on my truck.

Good luck as there are more and more options all the time. I spent several weeks reading 1000's of posts before I decided. In the end, Rancho had a $500 rebate which ended saving me about $700-800 over the stage-1 Procomp kit with similar shocks......But if you go with a Rancho Kit or leveling kit do your research on the backspacing and tire size before you rush out and spend money on something that might not fit.

I installed the Bilstein leveling shocks on my 2004 supercrew giving me 2 1/2 lift in the front verse a spacer with the thought this would put less stress on my front end components and hopefully prevent premature tire wear. Any body running these shocks and had any front end issues or premature tire wear?

I installed Bilsteins on mine with some short tires. I don't see a need to go bigger, my truck looks good and still handles good. 305/60-18's on this one. Like 32".

I would think a 4" is preferable over a 6". 6" is kind of hillbilly in a 1/2-ton. Puny rear axle looks ridiculous. Of course, this is my first 1/2-ton after years of driving 1-ton diesels.

Any trimming involved? Are you running 18x9 rims?

I had a 6" pro comp lift with 35s on my 05 and never again! The front end never felt the same! When I sold it my steering rack and all ball joints needed replaced and I was always going through bearings! Also the added stress from 35s on the tranny was noticeable! Yes I did the gears, programmer, exhaust & intake...My new FX2 gets a 2.5 leveling kit with 33s and that's it!!!

No rub, no trimming.

It took me some research to find the right combo, but I think the end result is worth it. Fuel Octane 18" with -20mm offset and 305/60-18 Terra Grapplers. Speedo is correct as well, verified by GPS.

I want this lift, my truck is the same as yours. The wheels I have are 18x9 with a 35mm offset, 6.38 backspace, I think. The wheels clear everything now, do you think they will work with this lift?
