Leveling Kits

Leveling Kits
Hello people, 1st timer here. I have read some of the forums and this looks like a great place to get some advice. I have a 2010 F150 Platinum 4x4 and a 5 ½ foot short bed with 275/55/20 tires. I am thinking of leveling the truck, boy there are many different leveling kits out there, which one to choose? Will I need to raise the rear any? I don’t really want to lift the truck much just beef it up a bit, I want to keep my stock wheels and put on 305/55/20 tires. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, welcome bro to the forum and your truck sounds nice. Post up some pics for us to see when you get a chance. As far as what brand leveling kit, I personally don't really think that it matters all that much. But some "known" good companies are Hell Bent Steel, Pro Comp, or Tuff Country make some good products. As far as raising the butt goes, I would say it depends on whether you are towing or not. If you are going to be then I would do an add a leaf or 1"block back there so your ***** is not dragging when you're towing. The 2010 already come stock w/a 1 5/8" block just an fyi. I think that would even you out nicely and look good w/your new 33" tires.

if you have the money right now the quick lift by rancho is a great shock/strut leveling system. round 185-200 for it look it up. i run a 2in pro comp leveling block on my truck but should have gone with a coil over/shock system with the added weight that i have placed on my truck.

Yeah, what Cehter said. The rancho quick lift is a really good idea and I believe helps the vehicle to retain its stock geometry whereas the leveling blocks can cause some harsher angels.

There is a guy on here that has an awesome platinum with the same set-up as your considering. You should check his page out. I think his name is dubsesd. Awesome truck! I have a 2010 Fx4 with 305/55-20 Nitto Trail Grappler Mt's with a Hell Bent Steel leveling kit. I really love the set-up. Was thinking of adding an inch to the rear but haven't done anything yet.
