They're black Recons with the darkest Lamin-X tint/film available... when I purchased it was called "charcoal".

I've had this setup about 2 years now and going strong, the inside of the LED lamps are black from the manufacturer but this film goes on the outside, it's basically transparent vinyl.... and no problems with Johnny Law yet either because the light output is better than stock lamps with halogen bulbs!

Yea I have been contemplating the recon's for a while but so dang pricey. Did you do the vinyl yourself? If so, was it easy? And yea I don't know where you live but I'm sure here in Cali I would get busted the first day but hopefully my Louisiana plates and military ID would save me like many times before lol.

I'm in South Carolina... no emission standards, no front plates, just relaxed! My brother owns a vinyl business so he actually applied them, didn't look too hard but he knows what he's doing so I just sat back and watched..... On the Recons though, I ripped off their resistors and mounted my own and I resealed them because they're not superb quality (to my standards at least) but that's what you're going to get with any aftermarket LED tail lamps...
