I was wondering about that. Tape off and plastidip the tan parts on the bottom? Can I plastidip the chrome bumper so it's a matte black all the way around? That would save me buying new bumpers.

Anyone have a pic of this on a truck? Would love to see what it looks like. Also anyone have a process for doing this? I'm not skilled in the way of plasti-dipping.

Just put on a PTM black 6-bar grille to replace the 3-bar chrome.

Next I need to do bumpers and emblems, and I have my HD tail swaps on the way.

Yes you can plasti dip the chrome bumpers very easily. Watch the vids on Youtube and do exactly as they say. I just did my entire grill and front and rear bumpers last weekend. It came out great. It is so simple. So instead of spending hundreds, possibly thousands on a new grill and bumpers I spent about $20.

Plasti dipping the bottom brownish strip will be a bit more invloved. Is there a molding piece or anything that separates the colors? If not then plasti dipping the bottom will be difficult. You have to have something to "break" the plasti dip or separate it when you paint it. Just by taping it off won't work. You will end up pulling off the wanted plasti dip with the unwanted tape.

So I might leave the brown there and buy some ranch hand or something front/back black bumpers. It will look less like I tried to black it out and couldn't get to the striping.

I could, on the striping, put down 3-4 layers of tape. I peel one off with each application so I can get a thick enough stripe down, without it bonding to the tape as it dries.

Still figuring out the best method.

If you peel off the tape before the dip dries you'll get a clean line. There's a crease where the brown starts and the regular paint stops. Tape it up, put on a few coats and right after your final coat, peel off the tape.

The mans right. I usually spray a few wet coats and peel, then retape and spray a few more wet coats and done.. u should get a nice clean line, with a good 6 coats on it. if u can do it in the morning or at night its even better so the dip takes longer to dry giving u time to work with

I would post mine except I don't know how to attach the photos. How do you do that?
