Well right after sand hook and every time there's threats of some new piece of gun control legislation, people lose their minds and go stock pile ammo and guns, just like right before some big storm people run out and buy all the bread and milk. Anytime you go into Walmart the ammo cabinet would be empty of all the standard calibers, 9mm .38spl .357 mag .40 cal .45acp and rifle calibers like .223 and 5.56mm and .22lr. And seems like production never keeps up with demand, so what little hits the shelves it gets snatched up quickly, to the point that stores will only sell and individual 1 box.

It is (was) relatively cheap, and probably the most common caliber gun owned, and excellent hunting rifle for small game when the apocalypse comes.

Wonder if it will work well against the zombies too... Sorry darn the walking dead always has me planning now
