Just took my stock spare off and it looks so naked underneath.
Getting a lift put on tomorrow and going to keep the spare 35 in a cargo basket on top.
Plus with the spare off you can really notice the gap between bottom of tailgate and bumper.
Took my spare off today. No reason to have a mis sized spare on. If u put it on the computer will think one wheel is slipping cause it'll be spinning faster and will apply brakes. Save the weight and take it off

Do you know this for a fact or is this just something you have heard? Have you actually experienced it?

Me I will keep my undersized spare just for the sole sake of boonie driving and little to no tow truck coverage in some areas. If you drive at highway speeds you might see and issue but I doubt it. Most vehicles all come with traction control now and most vehicles still use an undersized donut as a spare and you don't see those having traction/braking on constant due to the smaller diameter tire.

The only issue is IMO using 4x4 with an undersized spare.

If you get a flat, put your spare on the front and move your oversized tire to the rear. The front is an open differential so you'll be able to limp back.

What I'm referring to is nothing to do with a LS or locked rear being the problem. What im referring to is when a tire spins and computer applies the brakes and cuts power til you regain traction. With a smaller spare that tire will be spinning faster than the other tire thus confusing the computer into thinking a tire is spinning

What kind of mpg's are you getting with that setup? I'm guessing the rack on top cuts into your mpg's pretty deep

So far just around town 10-12 just had the lift done so have not been on any longer distance. Sure the tire on top drags it down 1 to 2.
