Lightbulb LED "Puddle Light" Swap

So the time has come to swap out the standard halogen "puddle lights" on my 2011 FX4 however, when I took out the light assembly I found there was no access to the bulb. Has anyone swapped the bulbs in these or had one burn out and take this assembly apart? I was thinking of putting the assembly in the oven at about 150 degrees and peeling off the lens to get to the bulb but I want to have a new one on hand first. I'm going to the dealer today to see how much this experiment will cost me and order an end cap for my front bumper beings I don't need a front license plate.

I have been wanting to do the same thing. But I wasn't even able to get the puddle lamp assemblies out of their holes. I was too afraid to pull too hard or take apart the mirror without having bulbs in hand to go ahead and replace. How did you get yours out? Also, are they replaced with 31mm festoons? Thanks

Do a search as this has been done before. Someone on here (can't remember who, sorry) did a nice write-up....
