Yes it looks that way from pic #2, the headlights are not shining too high up, into the Mazda's driver's face (well where his/her face would be)

Those look very promising. Do you know if they have been DOT approved yet?

If these are the bulbs, it appears they are DOT compliant, per the ad.

Sorry I should have been more clear:
Are they DOT Approved for on-street use in our halogen enclosures?

DOT Compliant is not the same as DOT Approved for on-street use.

- DOT Compliant, meets the requirements set forth by DOT for the light output of the bulb, such as color temperature and lumen output to name a few.

- DOT Approved, has been tested by DOT in the particular enclosure and was approved for on-street use in that enclosure.

Example: Those HID conversion kits are DOT Compliant, but they are not DOT approved for use in a halogen enclosure. To be Approved they have to be used in an Approved HID projector enclosure.

I would highly recommend contacting Steve at Southeast Overland if you are interested. His customer service is top notch and he has tested the prototypes of every variation of these bulbs. He works very closely with lifetime and uses all their stuff on their off-road rigs. One of my bulbs would completely cut out when I put them on high beam. He helped me sort it out in front of his shop and made sure everything was squared away.

These are intriguing for sure. My concern is also with the DOT approval. This is from the Lifetime LED FAQ:
Q: Are the lights legal for on road use?

A: You need to check with your local and state laws, We are not lawyers and can not advise you on legality of any light.

No clue. I can find out and see what is possible. On a side note I drove tonight and they do not glare into oncoming traffic like cheap hids
