Default Not working...?

Hello everyone, I know this is an old post, just hope someone is still around. So I'm trying to wire up some LED lights under my running boards so that when I open the doors the will light up the ground around us. I followed the wiring diagram on the first page but they are staying on all of the time. I'm wiring the driver's side to the rear driver door sill. Yellow/green hot and thin black/yellow ground, but again they stay on the whole time, even when the doors are closed. Can anyone help me?

You're using the wrong wires. See post #61.

Dang these things are expensive! I'm just going to do my original plan of EL tape under the factory sill plates with the "F150" cut out.

Actually pretty cheap right now on the China supplied wet site - on sale for $68. I'd always hoped for a replacement of the plastic plate in place and a set that would fit there, looks like I'm going this route - $68 is cheap. Look at some of the ford supplied ones for the Fusion - they are very nice and fit into the factory slots, but I think they are close to $200.

I'll scout ebay before buying to see if they are any cheaper - last year in this thread there were reports of $41 a set.

A question for those of you that have wired these in - I've got a '14 and know the right wires in the passenger floor board, but how did you get the wires to the other 3 doors? I figure the passenger front door will be very easy.

Thanks - I've got the correct wires - I'm just asking how did you get the wiring to the other 3 doors? Did you run it under the carpet or under the truck cab?

Thanks,

So used the diagram in post 1 and didn't work. Lights would stay on and the light output was weak. Saw the post #61 and they have different color on wires. Has anybody tried it on a 2013 lariat?!
