Ok.. read and read... and double checked by popping off my dome light to see wires there.. I have a 2014 F150 STX... Have the yellow/black, Grey/Purple and the Yellow/Green wires up there..
Checked out the amp-research for it, but didn't have per say what the wires were for it.. It had just red to red and black to black..
One post on here I read someone just used the straight purple wire, but not sure if that would work for only on when doors open/unlocked

2014 f150
What color wire did you use for driver side and passenger side front and back? I also have a 2014 f150 looking for the positive and negative wires to use on all four led door sills.

Why don't you guys just wire them to the third brake light...Well, really the cargo lights. They come in whenever the door is open, or whenever you unlock the truck.
Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't care if all the door sills came on at the same time if I only opened one door since the dome light(s) would turn on and the other doors would be closed and covering the other lit up door sills. Just a thought
That's what I ended up doing with LED strips I installed in the footwells, just easier than finding out which wires are which
