LED Door Sill Kickplates: Purchase & Install info, Wiring Diagrams, Warranty, Samples
Well I love my LED door sill plates but I became frustrated that all the info I needed wasn't in one place (kinda). They were in the same thread but you have to sift through a hundred pages to see what's available, what it looks like, how much is cost, where to buy, etc. Here are some of the things I learned over those pages.
PURCHASING - f150ledlights@gmail.com
SultanGris sells these things to our members. He buys them direct in China, tests and stock piles some of them. There are different types available at different prices. The prices have changed a little over time but I think I saw these were the latest.
Background Plating
-Silver back plating for $136, shipped. $126 if you want the front only. Add $12 if you live in Canada.
-Anotized or Black (black may be discontinued) back plating for $146 shipped. $136 if you want the front only. Add $12 if you live in Canada.
LED Colors
-Red, Blue and White are available
All units are 25" long in the front and 11" long in the rear.
Contact SultanGris at f150ledlights@gmail.com for more information about the product, purchasing, lead time, availability, etc. If you find that he does not have any available you can contact the seller in China yourself via eBay. Look for a person named hensun1961. Here's a sample of the eBay auction I won. They were $125, shipped and it didn't matter what color or plating I desired. Cheaper, yes, but some may appreciate having a rep in the US that responds quickly.
WIRING - I compiled this from successful installs found in the main thread and reconfirmed elsewhere. It might not be accurate or could be different for your vehicle. Use it as a guideline only. When in doubt, use a multimeter and probe the wires to be sure.
Note: Most of our vehicles have a gray wire with a purple stripe running down both doors sills. You can use this wire for the door sills or to power LED step lamps or LED bed lights. It is hot when the cargo light / interior lights come on and is not door specific. Open any door and the wire is hot. Close the doors and it'll go cold when the lights go out.
How / Where to run the wires:
Pull off the weather seal at each door and you will find retaining clips. Those retaining clips are attached in areas that have small notches in the frame. Right at that notch is the best area to bring the wire inside. You can run the wire under your new LED door sill to this location and then come up the interior door sill to the area you splice into.

How you splice into your truck is your decision but the little red splicers from any autoshop are cheap and effective.

WARRANTY
SultanGris has stated that he will warranty legitimate concerns for 1 year. You will need to take a detailed pic of the problem and send it to f150ledlights@gmail.com for authorization. If you bought it from eBay then you'll need to contact the seller. I had a problem with one and sent the seller an e-mail with a pic and received a replacement 5 days later. I was not expected to replace the old one so return shipping was easy. The most common issue is one side not properly lighting causing the letterig to light uneven.

SAMPLES - sorry, I tried to keep track of your name and to give you credit but it became a nightmare. If you don't want your pic here then just PM me with it's description and I'll remove it.

Thanks, for the clarity and write-up. Just received mine and plan the install as soon as I can get a good weather break. One question, did you (all) remove the factory skid sill that is currently in it's place or just clean it with alcohol and tape on top of it?
Thanks,
Scott
