Here is my setup.
I made 3 strips, 2 are hidden under the bed rail and you can see the third. I have a mercury switch installed in the tailgate and a 3 position switch inside the bed. Auto, constant on and off. I also a led wired into the ohc if I leave them on, or fail to securely close the tailgate and it pops open. I powered it from a custom fuse box I made up, I believe have another thread on that. I will have to get a picture of the switch and 12v outlet I installed.

Here are the pictures, I hope this works, never posted from my tablet using Photobucket to host pictures

Not to scale! Lmao. Good one, looks great though. I think between all the less expensive mods i can finally buy my fusion bumper! Lol

I plan on running power directly from the battery, whats the best type of terminal and wire gauge to do so?

ring terminal, 5amp fuse should be more then plenty, 14-16 gauge wire is what I suggest

I'm in the process of adding interior accent lights to my truck. I drew up this diagram, if anyone could take a look and tell me if you see anything wrong with it.

Thanks in advance !

why are you using 2 switches and 2 relays. Most led strips that have 4 contacts (1 ground, 1 R 1 G 1 B) usually have a control module that only needs 1 12v source. To be honest, led's use such minimal voltage that I don't see the need for any relays.

relay numbers
30 is 12 volt positive from battery
87 goes to the accessory positive
85 is ground
86 is the trigger

Don't wire it the way you have drawn it, I will walk you through what you want, just tell me what your goal is in that diagram

I agree with Kidastra. You would be better rigging up a bench test of your wiring before crossing any point of no return in the truck itself.
